LAGOS CONDUCTS 2024 BECE RESIT EXAM
The Lagos State Examinations Board held the Year 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Resit for applicants who failed English Studies, Mathematics, or both in an effort to raise educational standards and encourage long-term academic success in the state.
The Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, said that the conduct of the Resit Examination was in accordance with the harmonized Law of BECE, which states that English studies and mathematics are required subjects for students moving from the Junior Secondary School level into the Senior Secondary School level. He made this statement while overseeing the examinations at the various selected centers spread across the six Education Districts in the State.
The two subjects are part of the six credits that JSS 111 students must earn in order to advance to the next class (SSS ONE), so he also disclosed that if a student fails in either English studies or mathematics, or both, they will have to take the retake exam.
Mr. Orunsolu acknowledged his happiness with the exam’s peaceful conduct, noting out that the exercise’s success was because of the calm environment in which it was held.
He gave school administrators his word that the Board would continue to work with them.
