FIVE ARRAIGNED FOR STEALING N25M MILO TRUCK

Five men on Monday appeared before the Magistrate Court in Ota Ogun State for allegedly stealing a truckload of Milo products worth N25 million.

The defendants, Temidire Ramon, 35, Aminu Yusuf, 26; Olusola Opadare, 35; Oludayo Adeleye, 38, and Amodu Jimoh, 51, are standing trial on two counts of stealing and conspiracy.

The prosecutor, Insp E.O.Adaraloye, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Oct.13, 2020, at Agbara in Ogun State.

The charge sheet sighted by our correspondent reads, “That you, Temidire Ramon, Aminu Yusuf, Olusola Opadare Oludayo Adeleye, and Amodu Jimoh on October 13, 2020, at Agbara, Ogun State in the Ota Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Law of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.

“That you, Temidire Ramon, ‘m’, Aminu Yusuf, ‘m’; Olusola Opadare, ‘m’; Oludayo Adeleye, ‘m’ and Amodu Jimoh ‘m’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District did steal a full trailer load of Nestle Milo products, 44 pallets valued at N25m, property of Nestle Nigeria Pic and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Law of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.

“That you, Temidire Ramon, ‘m’; Aminu Yusuf ‘m’; Olusola Opadare, ‘m’; Oludaya Adeleye, ‘m’, and Amodu Jimoh, ‘m’, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District did receive a full trailer load of Nestle Milo products 44 pallets valued at N25m, property of Nestle Nigeria Plc and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 427 of the Criminal Law of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.”

Adaraloye said the defendants conspired and stole a truckload of Milo products valued at N25 million belonging to the Nestle Company.

He said the offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The defendants however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mr O.A Onagoruwa, granted the suspects a bail of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

Onagoruwa ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.

“The sureties must show evidence of tax payment to the Ogun State Government, the case is hereby adjourned to December 12 for hearing.”
