President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, following the passing of his father, Alhaji Momohsani Ododo, on Monday, August 18, 2025.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President conveyed his sympathies to the Ododo family, their friends, and the people of Kogi State during this time of mourning.

Tinubu stated, “My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved,” recognizing the “profound loss” experienced by both the Ododo family and the wider Kogi community.

Alhaji Momohsani, who died at the age of 83 after the 2 p.m. Muslim prayers, was remembered by the President as a “revered community leader” whose enduring legacy is reflected in the accomplishments of his children.

The President encouraged Governor Ododo, his family, and the entire Ododo clan to find comfort in their patriarch’s “life of service to God” and the “moral and religious values that guided him.”

He also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul and asked God to grant strength and comfort to the grieving family, friends, and associates.
