Barely a week after 38 worshippers from Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, Eruku, were abducted and later freed, Kwara State has again come under attack as at least 11 residents were reportedly kidnapped on Monday evening in Isapa, a neighbouring community in Ekiti Local Government Area.
Sources said the attackers moved through multiple parts of the town, shooting into homes. Bullet holes were later found in walls, windows, and wooden doors, underscoring the intensity of the assault.
He explained that the abducted victims include a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several children.
Those kidnapped, he noted, are Talatu Kabiru; six-year-old Magaji; Kande, aged five; 10-year-old Hadiza; and Mariam, also six years old.
Others abducted include five-year-old Saima; a housewife, Habibat; Fatima Yusufu; a 22-year-old pregnant woman identified as Sarah Sunday; Lami Fidelis; and a nursing mother, Haja Na Allah.
“This is the worst attack we’ve witnessed in recent times. Seven members of one family were taken. People are terrified, and no one knows what could happen next.
“Residents are living in fear. It’s overwhelming. Eleven people vanished into the bush just like that. We’re uncertain about what tomorrow holds,” he said.
