The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Ogbo, has assured new students of a student-focused learning environment backed by enhanced infrastructure.
Speaking at the institution’s 33rd matriculation ceremony on Thursday at the main campus in Lokoja, Professor Ogbo promised modern laboratories, ICT-driven examination systems, a functional library, secure hostels, and comprehensive entrepreneurial training facilities.
He stated, “Be assured that the Polytechnic remains fully committed to providing a student-centred learning environment, supported by improved infrastructure, modern laboratories, ICT-driven examination systems, a functional library, secure hostels, and robust entrepreneurial training facilities.”
He added that the institution will continue to uphold discipline and transparency, maintain zero tolerance for all forms of social vices, and promote peaceful coexistence, responsible leadership, and mutual respect.
“Our focus on security, moral discipline, and academic integrity is non-negotiable and lies at the heart of our institutional philosophy,” he added.
He noted that the Polytechnic’s national profile has improved significantly, with student intake now representing 32 states of the federation, up from 26 states in the 2023/2024 session.
“One of the clear benefits of academic stability is the Polytechnic’s expanding national reach. While the 2023/2024 session matriculated students from 26 states, the 2024/2025 intake included representation from 32 states, covering about 89 per cent of the federation.
“In the current session, enrolment now spans 33 states, representing 91.66 per cent of the federation.
“This significant growth highlights Kogi State Polytechnic as a true melting pot and reinforces the State’s identity as a confluence of opportunities,” he added.
