Father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, Emmanuel Odiniya, has spoken publicly about the viral family altercation involving his daughter, alleging that he was provoked before the confrontation escalated.
In a voice recording reportedly linked to Emmanuel and shared on Facebook on Sunday by Kogi-based journalist, Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme, the father claimed the incident was not motivated by hatred but by frustration over what he described as a change in his daughter’s behaviour after winning the reality TV show.
“I want to make it clear that the incident did not happen because I hate my daughter. She remains one of my best children,” he said.
Emmanuel stated that he made significant sacrifices and mobilised support to ensure Ilebaye emerged winner of the BBNaija All Stars edition.
“While she was in the Big Brother Naija house, I contributed immensely. I rallied support, used my influence and connections, including reaching out to governors and others, to ensure she received massive votes until she won,” he claimed.

According to him, their relationship allegedly became strained after her victory, as he accused the reality star of becoming disrespectful and aggressive towards him.
“After she won and returned home, she changed. Ilebaye stopped listening to me. I would arrange appointments for her several times a week, but she ignored me and no longer treated me like her father,” he alleged.
He also criticised her lifestyle choices, particularly alleged cosmetic procedures.
“I advised her against cosmetic surgery, including fillers and BBL procedures. She is still too young for that,” he said.
Emmanuel further alleged that his daughter had physically assaulted him in the past.
“She attacked me twice and I did nothing in return. On one occasion, she struck me with an AC hanger until I started bleeding,” he claimed.
Speaking on the recent confrontation, he alleged that Ilebaye assaulted him first before the situation spiralled.
“In the latest incident, she insulted me, hit me first with a sea hanger which caused injuries, pushed me, and later broke an electric lantern on my head,” he alleged.
The father also accused the reality TV star of failing to support him financially despite his health challenges.
“I have been seriously ill and needed medical treatment in Dubai. I asked Ilebaye for financial assistance and promised to pay her back, but she said she had no money. Later, I saw videos of her spraying bundles of naira at a colleague’s wedding,” he said.
He additionally alleged that she negatively influenced her younger brother and interfered in his marriage.
“She influenced her younger brother into drug use, which eventually led to his expulsion from school. She also once advised me to divorce her mother,” he alleged.
Despite the accusations, Emmanuel maintained that he still loved his daughter and hoped for reconciliation.
“I still love my daughter deeply and want her to improve. I appeal to Nigerians to pray for us. The police have already intervened and resolved the matter,” he said.
Earlier reports indicated that Ilebaye, her father, and her younger brothers were hospitalised following the confrontation at their Abuja residence.
The incident gained public attention after the reality TV star shared an emotional livestream video in which she cried out for help, triggering widespread concern among fans online.
Confirming the development, spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Josephine Adeh, said all parties involved sustained injuries and were receiving treatment.
“The man is in the hospital and currently ill. All those involved were seriously injured and are receiving medical attention,” Adeh said.
She added that the siblings had been placed under police protective custody while investigations into the incident continued.
