The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, on Monday accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of deliberately orchestrating crises within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Speaking on AIT Focus Nigeria, Abdullahi said the APC’s objective is to weaken opposition parties to ensure that none survive ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

“The crisis in the Labour Party was engineered, the crisis in PDP was engineered, the crisis in all these parties was engineered,” he said.

Abdullahi explained the motive behind the alleged strategy: “Why were these crises engineered? Because the ruling party knows that in a free and fair contest, there is no way they will win the election. Their best option is to leave the electorate with no alternative going into 2027. Today, PDP is no longer what it used to be.”

He further assured that the ADC is well-positioned to counter such tactics, noting that the party has a strong legal foundation.

“What the APC did to PDP, NNPP, and LP will not be allowed to happen to us. ADC is on solid legal ground. Our team of lawyers prepared carefully because we saw what this government did to the other opposition parties. Their plan is to ensure no other political party survives apart from APC, so by 2027, people will be left with no choice. ADC will not allow that,” Abdullahi said.
