Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has strongly criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu over the worsening insecurity across the country.

Speaking in an interview with News Central, Obasanjo stated that any government unable to protect the lives and property of its citizens has no justification to remain in power.

He made the remarks in response to the recent surge in violence nationwide, which has led to the deaths of many Nigerians and the abduction of several others.

“Let me be clear: any government that fails to guarantee the safety of lives and property has no justification to exist.

“Members of the National Assembly also have no authority to determine their own salaries or allowances.

“That responsibility does not lie with them under the constitution; it belongs to the Revenue Mobilization and Allocation Commission,” he said.
