The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has announced plans to introduce a dedicated short code to make it easier for residents, particularly motorists, to report traffic situations and engage directly with the agency.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Lagos.

He explained that the agency is replacing its current long-digit contact line with a shorter, toll-free code that residents can use conveniently.

According to him, the new service is expected to be operational within the next two to three weeks, pending final approval from the network provider.

Bakare-Oki noted that the agency has already completed the necessary groundwork, while installation of required machinery and equipment is ongoing to support the rollout.

He said the short code would serve as a direct communication channel for Lagos residents to report traffic congestion, emergency sit
