APC PRIMARIES: RADDA WINS KATSINA GOVERNORSHIP RETURN TICKET AGAIN

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State has endorsed Governor Dikko Radda as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement exercise was held on Thursday under the supervision of officials from the party’s national headquarters.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee for the Governorship Consensus Exercise, Dr Yakubu Maccido, said 160 delegates unanimously affirmed Radda as the party’s flagbearer.

He explained that, in line with the Electoral Act and APC guidelines, a sole aspirant is required to be confirmed through a voice vote by delegates.

Maccido thereafter declared Radda the APC consensus governorship candidate for Katsina State in the 2027 election and also presented result declaration forms for other elective positions to party leaders.

The APC Zonal National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Datti Garba, praised party members for conducting a peaceful and orderly consensus process.

Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, said Katsina was among the states where the consensus option was adopted without any internal crisis.

Former Katsina Governor, Aminu Masari, urged party members and aspirants who did not emerge to support Radda and work towards party unity and success.

Masari, who also chairs the Reconciliation Committee, encouraged the governor to carry all stakeholders along in the running of the party and government affairs.

He described the process in Katsina as successful and exemplary compared to what was obtained in some other states.

Masari also called on APC stakeholders across the state to begin grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, saying it was essential for the victory of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Radda, and all APC candidates.

He further urged residents of the state to turn out in large numbers to vote for the APC, describing Katsina as a stronghold of the party.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Radda thanked Almighty Allah for the opportunity to witness the development.

He also appreciated party leaders, stakeholders, and members for allowing him to run unopposed, promising to justify the confidence placed in him.

Radda assured party faithful that he would work diligently for the success of the APC at all levels.
