Former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Reagan Ufomba, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Labour Party (LP).

Governor Alex Otti received Ufomba and his supporters into the Labour Party on Wednesday at Okpuala Ngwa, Abia State, describing the move as a significant boost to the party and the state’s development agenda.

Otti said the Labour Party is built on principles of equity, inclusiveness, and equal opportunity, assuring new members that they would not face any form of discrimination from existing members.

“The interesting thing about the Labour Party is that there is no discrimination. We don’t have old and new members,” the governor said.

He also commended Ufomba for his contributions to Abia State’s development and for supporting the administration’s reform efforts.

In his remarks, Ufomba pledged his commitment to advancing the growth and progress of Abia State under the Labour Party platform.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Otti and the party leadership for warmly welcoming him into the party.
