ADELEKE URGES SECURITY AGENCIES TO SUSTAIN CRACKDOWN ON CRIMINALS

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged security agencies, especially the Osun State Police Command, to intensify efforts against criminal activities following the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State.
Adeleke made the call while congratulating President Bola Tinubu and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on the operation that secured the victims’ freedom, describing their release as a positive development for the nation.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor said the successful rescue underscored the effectiveness of coordinated security efforts in combating kidnapping, terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes.
He commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for their professionalism, resilience and teamwork throughout the operation, which led to the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers after weeks in captivity.

“I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and my brother, Governor Seyi Makinde, on the successful rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State. Their safe return brings immense relief to their families and the entire nation,” Adeleke said.
The governor also praised the Nigerian Army, the Office of the National Security Adviser, the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Defence Headquarters, the Nigerian Navy, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the National Intelligence Agency, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other security agencies for their collaborative efforts.
According to him, the success of the operation highlights the importance of sustained cooperation among security institutions in tackling insecurity and safeguarding citizens.
Adeleke further lauded the security personnel for executing the mission with professionalism and restraint, noting that the victims were rescued unharmed while the criminal network behind the abduction was dismantled.
He also paid tribute to security operatives who made sacrifices during the operation, offering prayers for those who lost their lives and wishing injured personnel a quick recovery.
The governor called on security agencies to build on the success and sustain the momentum in the ongoing fight against crime and insecurity across the country.
