‘ANY HARM TO EL-RUFAI, HOLD TINUBU RESPONSIBLE’ — ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned that President Bola Tinubu’s administration should be held accountable if any harm befalls former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, while he remains in government custody.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the statement during an interview on Symfoni TV, describing El-Rufai’s continued detention as politically motivated rather than a matter of justice or criminality.
According to Abdullahi, any incident involving the former governor while in custody would be the responsibility of the Tinubu administration.
He argued that El-Rufai had not been convicted of any offence, stressing that determining guilt or innocence is the responsibility of the courts.
Abdullahi further alleged that the prolonged detention was aimed at preventing El-Rufai from participating in the upcoming elections and strengthening the opposition.
He also recalled El-Rufai’s support for Tinubu during the latter’s presidential ambition, claiming the former governor stood by him at a time when many members of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet did not.
