Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has appeared again at the Federal High Court as his trial over alleged financial misconduct resumes.
El-Rufai was observed entering the court under tight but orderly security, with officials closely monitoring activities around the premises as proceedings got underway.
His return follows a prior temporary release granted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The media reported that he was permitted to attend the funeral rites of his late mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who passed away in Cairo, Egypt.
The release was reportedly granted on compassionate grounds following the family’s loss, though the ICPC has not officially disclosed the specific conditions of the bail.
At the time of filing this report, it is still unclear whether the former governor will continue to hold his temporary bail or be required to return to ICPC custody pending further court rulings.
