Former presidential candidate Dele Momodu officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Thursday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, while addressing his supporters.

Momodu emphasized that his decision to join the party was driven by a desire to promote the interests of the people rather than to pursue any political office in the state.

Speaking to his followers, he said, “I came home for the first time and coordinated everything. It took me over 50 years of hard work and meticulous planning to establish a home from my modest income in Iwe.

“Today, nobody can say Dele has no roots in Iwe. I stand before you as I humbly reintegrate myself into the political process of my state.

“People have asked me, ‘What do you want? Do you want to be a governor or a senator?’ No. I just want to promote the best interests of our people.”
