Arsenal secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over London rivals Chelsea in a thrilling Premier League derby at the Emirates Stadium, completing a comeback after falling behind early.

Chelsea stunned the home crowd just 77 seconds into the match when Morgan Rogers fired in a spectacular volley to give the visitors the lead.

Arsenal thought they had equalised through Riccardo Calafiori, but the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

The Gunners, however, gradually took control of the game and dominated the midfield, with former Chelsea forward Kai Havertz restoring parity in the 24th minute with a composed low finish.

Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard then completed the comeback four minutes into the second half, converting a low cross in the 49th minute after a fine combination with Bukayo Saka on the right flank.

Chelsea pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Arsenal’s defence held firm to preserve the lead and secure all three points.

The victory keeps Arsenal firmly in contention for the Premier League title and extends their unbeaten run against Chelsea, which dates back to August 2021.
