BY JENN NOMAMIUKOR Aishatu Umar, a mother of five, died in Kano State as a result of suspected medical malpractice at the government-owned Abubakar Imam Urology Centre. According to Abubakar Mohammed, the deceased's relative, Aishatu passed away after suffering from excruciating stomach discomfort for several months after undergoing surgery at the hospital approximately four months prior. Mohammed claims that following the procedure in September, Aishatu apparently started having ongoing, worsening stomach pain. He claimed that despite her many medical stays, she was just prescribed painkillers without any additional testing.
