HOTJIST NEWS Residents of Kano State have been reassured by the state government that the state's ongoing emirate conflict will soon be settled. Ibrahim Waiya, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, assured reporters in Kano on Thursday that significant efforts had already been made to bring about long-lasting peace and stability. He emphasized that the emirate issue would not be permitted to continue causing conflict or jeopardizing state government and stated that Governor Yusuf's administration is still dedicated to communication with all relevant parties. "The state government is committed to negotiation with stakeholders, therefore the Kano emirship dispute will soon be settled amicably," Waiya stated. He clarified that respect for traditional institutions, the rule of law, and the interests of the Kano State people as a whole serve as the foundation for the government's strategy.
