The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, has approved the reassignment of all four deputy governors of the apex bank in a significant internal restructuring aimed at strengthening operations and policy delivery.

According to a statement issued on Monday night, the changes cut across key directorates, with new portfolios assigned to each deputy governor.

Under the new arrangement, Philip Ikeazor takes over the Policy Directorate, replacing Dr. Muhammad Abdullahi, who has been moved from the Economic Policy Directorate to head Corporate Services.

Also affected in the reshuffle, Emem Nnana Usoro moves from Corporate Services to oversee Operations, while Lamido Yuguda has been redeployed from Operations to the Financial System Stability Directorate.

The CBN did not provide specific reasons for the sweeping redeployment but said the changes were intended to better deploy the experience of senior officials across critical areas of responsibility.

According to the bank, the move is also aimed at supporting evolving institutional priorities and strengthening policy coordination across its operations.

The latest reshuffle represents one of the most significant internal adjustments at the apex bank under the current leadership, coming amid ongoing efforts to stabilise the financial system and implement key monetary reforms.
