FIVE POLICE OFFICERS REMANDED AS COURT BEGINS PROCEEDINGS OVER OG MILLAN’S DEATH

Five police officers accused in connection with the death of Delta State musician and delivery worker, Oghenemine Ogidi, popularly known as OG Millan, have been remanded by a High Court in Asaba pending further legal proceedings.

The officers appeared before Justice Marshal Onome Umukoro of High Court 5 on Monday and were subsequently ordered to remain in custody at the Ogwashi-Uku Correctional Centre while the Directorate of Public Prosecutions reviews the case.

The matter was adjourned to June 15, 2026, as rights activists and family members of the deceased welcomed the development but expressed concerns over inadequate communication from authorities handling the case. Family members also called for greater transparency and regular updates as the judicial process continues.
