COURT VICTORY: ADELEKE URGES ACCORD MEMBERS TO INTENSIFY OSUN CAMPAIGN

The Osun State governorship candidate of Accord, Ademola Adeleke, has called on party members and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the August 15 governorship election following the Court of Appeal’s affirmation of the party’s legal status.
Adeleke, in a statement posted on his X account on Tuesday, described the court ruling as a victory for democracy and the rule of law, urging supporters to remain focused on the forthcoming election.
He said the judgment reaffirmed that Accord remains “strong, lawful and fully prepared” for the poll.
“Again, Accord is victorious — democracy and the rule of law have prevailed.
“I congratulate every member and supporter of our great Accord family as the Court of Appeal has affirmed what we have always known, our party remains strong, lawful and fully prepared for the August 15 governorship election,” Adeleke stated.

The candidate thanked supporters for their resilience despite what he described as efforts to create confusion and fear around the party, urging them to shift their attention back to engaging with voters.
Adeleke appealed to party leaders, youths, women and other supporters to step up mobilisation efforts across polling units, wards and communities to secure victory at the polls.
The development followed a ruling by the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which overturned a Federal High Court judgment directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the African Democratic Congress and four other political parties.
A three-member panel of the appellate court, led by Justice Abba Mohammed, held that the earlier judgment was invalid because the Federal High Court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the suit.
The court ruled that the case was incompetent, noting that it was filed by an entity without the legal capacity to institute such proceedings. It also held that there was no lawful basis for the deregistration order issued against the affected parties.
