Residents of Oke Ogba in Akure, Ondo State, have been thrown into mourning following the death of three siblings on their father’s farm.

The children, identified as 11-year-old twins Joshua and Jacob Jonah, and their five-year-old sister, Blessing Jonah, were reportedly found dead near a stream on the farm on Saturday.

According to a source, the children had accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to the farm on Friday but later left for home while he remained behind to continue working.

However, when their father returned home several hours later, he discovered that the children were missing, prompting the family to commence a search.

Their bodies were subsequently found on Saturday near the bank of a small river within the farm.

The circumstances surrounding their deaths remained unclear as of the time of filing this report.

Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the command had commenced an investigation.

Jimoh said the incident occurred on September 4, 2026, at a farm located around the Owena Army Barracks area of Akure.

He said the three children had accompanied their father to the farm before leaving for home, only to be discovered missing after he returned.

According to the PPRO, a search operation was launched, leading to the discovery of the bodies on September 5, 2026, around the bank of a small river on the farm.

Jimoh added that the bodies had been taken by their father for burial, while the police were documenting the incident and investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the children’s deaths.
