Nigerian troops serving under the ECOWAS Stabilization Support Mission to Guinea-Bissau (ESSMGB) paid a solidarity visit to the Super Eagles ahead of Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the host nation, the Wild Dogs.

The Commanding Officer of NIGCOY 5, Lieutenant Colonel Afam Junior Chidi, led the troops to the Super Eagles’ official training session at the 24 September Stadium in Bissau on Monday evening.
During the visit, the soldiers met with the Acting NFF General Secretary, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, and other members of the Nigerian delegation.
The visit highlighted the bond between Nigerian troops serving abroad and the national team, while giving the soldiers an opportunity to motivate and encourage the Super Eagles ahead of the crucial qualifier in Bissau.
