The Ogun State House of Assembly, through its Committee on Finance and Appropriation, is set to commence the appraisal of the 2026 budget performance of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of the state government.
The exercise, which begins on Monday, August 31, 2026, will assess the implementation of the state’s budget for the second quarter, covering the period from January to June.
According to a statement issued by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Sakiru Adebakin, the appraisal will run from Monday, August 31, to Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The exercise is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. daily.
The Assembly said the appraisal forms part of the constitutional responsibilities of the legislative arm of government and is aimed at assessing the level of compliance by government MDAs with the 2026 Appropriation Law.
It added that the exercise would also help ensure accountability and value for government resources in the implementation of policies and projects across the state.
The Assembly therefore urged all heads of MDAs to submit the relevant documents and appear for the exercise in accordance with the schedule earlier communicated to them.
