The Osun State Police Command has arrested two men in connection with an alleged burglary in which valuables worth about N3 million were reportedly stolen from a residence in the state.

The suspects were identified as 27-year-old Eyelade Anuoluwa and 28-year-old Abdullah Musa, who was allegedly found in possession of some of the stolen items in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement, Anuoluwa allegedly burgled the complainant’s residence on July 26, 2026, and stole an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, an iPhone 12, an Android phone, two power banks and recharge cards, with a total estimated value of N3 million.

Ojelabi said Anuoluwa was arrested in Ibadan following intelligence gathered by operatives attached to the Ilesa Area Command.

The suspect was subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, where he allegedly confessed to the crime.

The police said further investigation and intensive interrogation led to Anuoluwa disclosing that some of the stolen items had been transferred to a receiver in Ibadan.

“Consequently, Police operatives from SCID embarked on an intelligence-led operation which resulted in the arrest of one of the receivers, Abdullah Musa, aged 28 years, in Ibadan,” the statement said.

According to the Command, Musa also allegedly confessed to receiving stolen properties and is being investigated over his alleged involvement in a syndicate dealing in stolen items.

The police said Musa further confessed to buying the stolen iPhone 12 from Anuoluwa for N25,000.

The operation also led to the recovery of several items allegedly linked to the burglary, including an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, a small Samsung phone, a mini DP charger, two power banks, an Apple iPad with 16GB capacity and a scrap phone.

The Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, CP Ibrahim Zungura, commended the operatives for their diligence and intelligence-led approach, which led to the arrest of the suspects and recovery of some of the stolen property.

The Command said investigation was ongoing to establish the full extent of the suspects’ activities, identify other persons allegedly connected to the crime and recover additional stolen properties.

It added that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation in accordance with the law.

The police also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities and persons through appropriate channels.
