POLICE ARREST 38-YEAR-OLD MAN OVER ALLEGED MURDER OF HIS FATHER IN ONDO

A 38-year-old man, Kingsley Nsikak, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly assaulting his 65-year-old father, Peter Adone, to death following a heated altercation at their residence in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, the incident occurred on May 28, 2026, when an argument between father and son reportedly escalated into a violent confrontation, leaving the elderly man with severe injuries.
Despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life, Adone later died from injuries sustained during the attack.
Jimoh disclosed that the case was reported to the police by Daniel Moses, another son of the deceased and brother to the suspect, prompting detectives to launch an investigation and swiftly arrest Nsikak.
“The tragic incident has generated concern among residents of the community. Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly engaged his father in a violent altercation that turned physical,” the police spokesperson said.
He added that the deceased’s remains have been deposited in a morgue, while the suspect remains in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
