Nigerian winger Samuel Kalu has committed his future to Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv after signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2029.

The former Super Eagles player had been linked with a summer exit, with reports suggesting interest from fellow Bulgarian outfit Levski Sofia as well as several Swiss clubs.

However, Botev Plovdiv have moved swiftly to secure his services, handing him a new long-term deal.

Kalu, 28, joined the Yellow and Blacks last summer following his departure from English Championship club Watford.

He featured in 26 matches across all competitions for Botev Plovdiv last season, scoring two goals.

Over the course of his career, Kalu has also played for AS Trenčín, KAA Gent, Girondins Bordeaux and Watford.
