Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has reflected on life at 65, saying he feels as though he is “living extra time” after outliving both of his parents.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Morayo Show, the screen icon described his life as one defined by gratitude, noting that neither of his parents lived to celebrate their 60th birthdays.

RMD said he is thankful to be alive and proud to be Nigerian at a time when entrepreneurship and self-employment are thriving globally.

Sharing the secret behind his youthful appearance and energy, the actor attributed it to healthy eating, regular exercise and a mindset that refuses to embrace old age.

According to him, he lives by the philosophy that older people remain youthful by never allowing themselves to think or act old.

He added that he has deliberately maintained his signature sense of style instead of dressing his age, despite occasional disapproval from his eldest son, who is now 43.

RMD, however, insisted he has no intention of changing his fashion choices, saying he plans to keep embracing his youthful outlook on life.
