UPDATE: COURT REMANDS SEUN KUTI IN CUSTODY FOR ANOTHER FOUR DAYS

A magistrate court sitting in Yaba, Lagos,Thursday, ordered the remand of Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, in police custody, for another four days to complete investigation into the case of assault involving a police officer.
Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and Deputy commissioner of Police , Lagos State, Simon Lough who led the legal team for the police had prayed the court for added days to continue with investigation into the matter.
Chief Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun in her ruling granted the Police additional four days to conclude investigation.
The lagos state police command had on Tuesday, approached a magistrate court sitting at Yaba to request for the remand of Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti for twenty one days to conclude investigation.
Chief Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun in an earlier ruling, Tuesday granted the Police additional forty eight hours as against the 21-day request to conclude their investigation into the matter and send the case file to the DPP for legal advise in seventy two hours.
Olatunbosun equally admitted the defendant to bail to the tune of one million naira with two sureties in like sum, one of whom is to own landed properties in the state, with a proof of three years tax clearance.
