The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, has charged the staff of the Ministry to be more committed to meeting the set targets for the year 2024.

Speaking at the general staff meeting held in the conference room of the Ministry on Wednesday at the Secretariat, Alausa, Ogunlende stated that the THEMES Plus agenda of the Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu administration has saddled the Ministry with more responsibilities, for which more efforts would be required to meet the aspirations of Lagosians.

He said, “While commending all your efforts towards alleviating the plight of the downtrodden in 2024, I will not fail to let you know that more responsibilities are placed on us as a ministry by the Social Inclusion and Youth Empowerment added to the THEMES Agenda”.

“Mr. Governor and the entire Lagosians look up to us for different social services. Please, let’s be up and doing this year. The success of last year cannot suffice for this year. But be rest assured that your labour will be rewarded both by man and God”, he added.

Furthermore, the Permanent Secretary, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu assured the staff of the necessary assistance to perform optimally. She said the Ministry would prioritize human capital development by organising training programmes and retreats for the staff to equip them with the requisite skills and knowledge as social workers.

In her words, “For you to live up to expectations, the Ministry will be organising training programmes and retreats where you will be exposed to 21st Century Skills as social workers. The aim is for you to be at your best at your duty post and ensure effective service delivery”.
