Real Madrid edged past Borussia Dortmund 3–2 in a pulsating FIFA Club World Cup clash to book a place in the semi-finals, overcoming a late scare in a match filled with intensity and last-minute drama.

The Spanish side made an early statement, taking the lead in the 10th minute when G. García found the net off an assist from Arda Güler. F. García added a second just ten minutes later, converting a pass from T. Alexander-Arnold to give Madrid a 2–0 advantage going into halftime.

Dortmund rallied in the second half, pushing back with urgency. M. Beier sparked hope with a goal in the 90+2 minute.

But any momentum was quickly halted as Kylian Mbappé struck two minutes later, restoring Madrid’s two-goal cushion with another assist from Güler.

Drama intensified in added time. Madrid’s D. Huijsen received a card in the 90+6 minute, followed by Mbappé moments later.

In the 90+8 minute, Dortmund earned a penalty which S. Guirassy calmly slotted home, narrowing the score to 3–2. Despite the pressure, Madrid held firm to the final whistle.

The result sets up a mouthwatering semi-final between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
