TINUBU APPROVES PETER EZE AS FCC COMMISSIONER FOR ENUGU STATE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday designated Peter Ogbonna Eze as the Federal Character Commission (FCC) Commissioner representing Enugu State.

The proclamation, delivered by Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, was accompanied by the appointment of 36 additional Commissioners throughout the federation.

Eze is widely regarded as a highly motivated and results-driven economist, public administrator, and business leader with a strong international background in management, leadership, and strategic partnerships.

Over the years, Eze, a resident of Aji in Igbo Eze North, Enugu State, has established a distinguished reputation for facilitating organizational advancement, implementing innovative strategies, and guiding teams toward achievement while consistently championing positive transformation and sustainable development.

The professional trajectory of Eze, the Special Assistant to Abia North Legislator Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, reflects a profound dedication to academic distinction and leadership.

He attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with Second Class Upper Honours from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 2014, during which he also occupied several student leadership roles and received numerous accolades for exceptional service.

His aspiration for global insights led him to the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing, China, where he earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from 2017 to 2019.

Throughout his academic pursuits, Eze set himself apart as an exemplary student, garnering honors such as the Most Outstanding Student Award at UIBE (2019), the Distinguished Leadership Award from UNN’s Department of Economics (2017), and the Personality of the Year Award from the Faculty of Social Sciences Students Association (2014).

His foundational education commenced at The Lord’s Foundation Nursery/Primary School in Nnewi and progressed through Federal Government College, Nise, Anambra State, where he received his WASSCE certificate.

His commitment to excellence has been acknowledged on various fronts. Eze is a laureate of the Rotary International Leadership Excellence Award (2023) and the China-Nigeria Friendship Award (2022) from the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria.

He has also represented Nigeria internationally, notably as a delegate at the NASPAA-Batten Student Simulation Competition (2018), where he worked on strategies for “Pandemic Crisis Management and Global Health Security.

Eze’s professional journey exemplifies adaptability across various sectors, holding significant leadership positions in both the private and public domains. He commenced as a Senior Programme Officer at the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation (2014–2015), where he orchestrated and executed development initiatives. During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) tenure, he worked as a Special Correspondent for The Sun Newspapers (2015–2016), covering prominent areas such as governance, education, and international relations.

His global career took form when he assumed the role of Head of the International Desk for the Chinese CEO Group in Beijing (2017–2019), steering the company’s strategies for market expansion in Africa, innovating new service delivery models, and evaluating operational frameworks for enhanced efficiency.

In Nigeria, Eze has occupied the positions of Director of Procurement and Logistics at Slok Nigeria Ltd (2018–2020), Director of Strategy, Policy, and Document Control at The Sun Publishing Ltd (2020–2022), and Director of Operations at The New Telegraph (2022–2023). Presently, he leads Bullion Standard Nigeria Limited, where he supervises company operations in importation, mining, production, and services, while driving strategic decision-making and cultivating international partnerships.

Peter Eze has collaborated closely with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for numerous years, acting as his Special Assistant and contributing to a range of political, developmental, and philanthropic initiatives. Senator Kalu is thought to have influenced his appointment, acknowledging his commitment, intellect, and aptitude for public service.

With a professional trajectory encompassing journalism, corporate administration, policy formulation, logistics, and global commerce, Peter Eze contributes a significant reservoir of expertise to the FCC. His designation is commonly regarded as a meritocratic acknowledgment of his scholarly accomplishments, international experience, and proven leadership in intricate, multi-faceted settings.
