VIDEO: MOMENT OLUBADAN DESIGNATE, OBA LADOJA ARRIVED FAMILY COMPOUND

The former Governor of Oyo State and Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, arrived in Ibadan on Monday, the state capital, where he returned to his family house in Isale-Osi, Ibadan South East Local Government Area.

Ladoja, who is the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, was said to have later proceeded to his private residence on Ondo Street, Bodija, in Ibadan North Local Government Area.

Confirming his presence in the city, his media aide, Adeola Oloko, said on Monday: “The 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Ladoja, is in town right now. He is at Isale-Osi. From here, we are moving to his house at Bodija.”

The Olubadan-In-Council had earlier, on Monday, April 4, 2025, unanimously nominated and approved Ladoja as the new monarch following the 21-day mourning period for the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin. The meeting was held at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, although Ladoja was not in attendance.

Governor Seyi Makinde is now expected to officially confirm the council’s decision and announce the date for the presentation of the staff of office.
