SUPER FALCONS CELEBRATE CAPTAIN ONOME EBI ON HER RETIREMENT

The Super Falcons have commended Captain Onome Ebi for her exceptional contributions to Nigerian women’s football following her retirement from professional play.
In a heartfelt statement shared on X on Thursday by teammate Rasheedat Ajibade, the team lauded Ebi’s leadership and enduring legacy.
“On behalf of every member of the Super Falcons, we express our sincere appreciation to you, Captain Onome Ebi, for your remarkable service and guidance over the past twenty years.
“Your four WAFCON titles and your groundbreaking six FIFA Women’s World Cup appearances have established you as a symbol of excellence for our team.

“You have been more than just a captain; you have been a pioneer who cleared the path for this generation of athletes,” stated the Super Falcons.
The team reminisced about her early days with Bayelsa Queens to her brilliance on international stages in Sweden, Turkey, China, Spain, and back in Nigeria, highlighting how Onome demonstrated that no aspiration is too grand and no obstacle insurmountable.
“Your tenacity has motivated us to transcend boundaries and believe in our capacity to continue shaping history.
“Although I retire from playing, my commitment to the sport persists through giving back, mentoring, and advocating for players. ”
