The Lagos State Police Command has joined organisations across Nigeria in celebrating the 2025 Customer Service Week, a global event dedicated to promoting service excellence and strengthening relationships between institutions and the public.
Highlighting its commitment to citizen-centered policing, the Command organised a free medical outreach at the Area F Police Cottage Hospital, Ikeja, where both residents and police personnel received complimentary healthcare services including blood pressure checks, HIV and hepatitis screenings, pelvic scans, and X-rays.
According to the Command, the initiative was aimed at appreciating the public for their cooperation and fostering stronger police-community relations built on trust, empathy, and accessibility. Medical professionals at the event also conducted advisory sessions on preventive healthcare, stress management, and lifestyle improvement.
As part of the week’s activities, the Command hosted a broad stakeholders’ meeting involving members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), the Eminent Persons Forum, civil society groups, traditional rulers, the clergy, and the Community Development Advisory Council. The engagement provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration toward enhanced public safety and security across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, appreciated all stakeholders for their continued partnership and support, emphasising that policing thrives on cooperation and mutual understanding.
“Our service is community-centred. We value every Lagos resident as a stakeholder in the security architecture of our State. Together, we can sustain peace, strengthen trust, and ensure that Lagos remains safe for all,” he stated.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the principles of service, respect, and integrity, while encouraging the public to engage the Police through the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) and its verified social media platforms for feedback and assistance.
