The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to grassroots development as she marked her second term’s first 100 days in office with the unveiling of new projects and empowerment initiatives.

The press briefing, themed “Together, We Celebrate 100 Days of Purposeful Leadership and Community Transformation,” was held on Monday at the Sen. Bayo Oshinowo Hall, and attended by top government officials, political leaders, and community stakeholders.

Speaking at the event, the council chairman said her administration’s early achievements were inspired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus vision for inclusive governance and sustainable development across Lagos State.

She described the milestone as a reaffirmation of her resolve to deepen service delivery at the grassroots, noting that her administration’s focus in the last 100 days had been on infrastructure renewal, social welfare, youth empowerment, and education.

“We are raising the banner of Renewed Hope — the guiding light of our second term — with the promise of a better tomorrow for the people of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA,” she said.

“Our achievements are not mine alone, but the fruit of collective commitment and shared vision.”

Princess Bada outlined several completed and ongoing projects within the 100-day period, including the construction and rehabilitation of major access roads in communities such as Odo-Olowu, Agboyi, and Unilag Estate, as well as the completion of the second phase of the Mile 12 International Market.

She explained that the infrastructural projects were designed to enhance economic activities and ease movement within the LCDA.

She also highlighted her administration’s social intervention efforts, noting that over 2,000 residents had benefited from the Renewed Hope Palliative Programme, while an additional 500 beneficiaries were selected for the council’s monthly cash support scheme, each receiving ₦100,000 to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship.

“These initiatives reflect our belief that governance must touch lives directly. We will continue to prioritise policies that empower our people and support the most vulnerable among us,” she stated.

The chairman further announced that the council would soon commence new projects, including a low-cost housing scheme, a modern fire station, the reconstruction of public primary schools, and the construction of a befitting palace for the Onikosi of Ikosi, describing the proposed palace as a heritage symbol of unity and community pride.

The event was graced by dignitaries including the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Special Duties, Hon. Tobi Oladepo, councillors, traditional rulers, and representatives of the Christian Association of Ikosi-Isheri and the League of Imams of Ikosi-Isheri.

Speakers at the occasion commended the chairman’s achievements within a short period, describing her leadership as people-oriented and progressive.

During an interactive session with journalists, all questions were directed to the chairman, who personally responded to each inquiry with clarity and confidence.

She pledged to sustain transparency and accountability in governance while addressing concerns raised about environmental sanitation and waste management in some communities.

“Our Health and Environmental Department will intensify collaboration with community development associations to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment,” she assured.

Princess Bada also urged residents to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise, emphasising that active civic participation remains vital for sustaining democracy and ensuring continuity in development.

“My heart is where my community is,” she declared. “Together, we will build a council that truly reflects the hope and aspirations of our people.”
