Actress and filmmaker Regina Daniels has revealed that her mother, Rita Daniels, warned her against marrying Senator Ned Nwoko, but she chose to go ahead with the marriage because she fell in love.

In a video shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Daniels urged Nigerians to stop insulting her mother amid her ongoing marital challenges.

She clarified that her marriage was not motivated by financial gain and emphasized that her family had initially advised against the union.

“The main essence of this video is to please stop insulting my mom. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. She’s been strong for seven years and held it down. I’m the one with the coconut head,” Daniels said.
“I’m ashamed to say I fell in love, but I actually did. Everyone said no — my mom included. And please stop saying I got married out of greed. We were not broke. No amount of money could make my mother give me away.”

Daniels also revealed that the stress surrounding her marriage had at one point led her to contemplate suicide. Despite the difficulties, she affirmed her commitment to remaining strong for her children.
