The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has officially unveiled its institutional brand identity, marking the formal transition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to the newly established national revenue authority.
The unveiling ceremony, held in Abuja on Wednesday, featured the presentation of the agency’s new logo and signified a major milestone in the ongoing reform of Nigeria’s revenue administration system.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of the NRS, Mr. Zacch Adedeji, described the new identity as a symbol of transformation and renewed purpose. He said the rebranding reflects the agency’s commitment to building a more unified, efficient, and service-driven revenue system that aligns with Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda and global best practices.
Adedeji noted that the new identity underscores continuity of purpose, enhanced institutional capacity, and a forward-looking approach to supporting taxpayers while strengthening national development efforts.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Mr. Dare Adekanmbi, the NRS reaffirmed its dedication to transparency, partnership, and service excellence, stressing that the rebranding marks the beginning of a strengthened relationship with the Nigerian public.
“The unveiling of this new identity represents not an end, but the beginning of a strengthened relationship between the revenue authority and the Nigerian public built on trust, clarity, and shared prosperity,” the statement said.
Adekanmbi further disclosed that the Nigeria Revenue Service formally commenced operations following the signing of its enabling legislation, the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Act 2025, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in June.
The transition from FIRS to NRS is expected to enhance revenue mobilisation, improve taxpayer engagement, and support the country’s broader economic reform initiatives.
