NPA: 31 SHIPS LADEN WITH FUEL, FOOD ITEMS EXPECTED AT LAGOS PORTS

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has disclosed that no fewer than 31 vessels laden with petroleum products, food items and other cargoes are expected to berth at major Lagos ports within the next ten days.

According to the NPA’s Daily Shipping Position released on Tuesday, the vessels are scheduled to arrive at the Apapa Port, Tin Can Island Port and the Lekki Deep Sea Port between January 6 and January 16.

The authority stated that the consignments onboard include condensate, crude oil, aviation fuel, raw oil, bulk bitumen, wall pallets, general cargo, bulk soya beans, fresh fish, containers, diesel and petrol.

Meanwhile, the NPA revealed that 13 vessels, comprising mainly tankers, have already arrived at the three ports and are currently awaiting berthing.

These vessels are conveying various products such as diesel, crude oil, aviation fuel, fresh fish, crude palm olein, general merchandise, bulk gas, wall pallets, containers and bulk sugar.

Additionally, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) disclosed that 23 vessels are currently engaged in cargo discharge operations at the ports.

The cargoes being offloaded include bulk urea, containers, bulk wheat, bulk salt, bitumen, bulk gas, petrol, fresh fish and other general merchandise.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to promoting efficient vessel turnaround times and seamless cargo handling activities across all ports under its jurisdiction.
