Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has predicted that former Vice President Abubakar Atiku will be pressured to step aside for ex-President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele claimed that international bodies, including the African Union, European Union, and the United States, alongside local figures such as TY Danjuma, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Olusegun Obasanjo, would support the move.
The cleric further stated that Jonathan is expected to join a coalition opposing the current administration, with the intention of challenging President Bola Tinubu and serving a single term.
Primate Elijah Ayodele has predicted that international and local actors will pressure former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to step aside for ex-President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
“I see that the AU, UK, USA, EU, and some local figures like TY Danjuma, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and Obasanjo will ask Atiku to step down for Jonathan, even within the coalition. They will push Jonathan to join the coalition and secure the ticket to contest against Tinubu in 2027. It will be a difficult move, but I see it already being planned,” Ayodele said.
The cleric added that meetings related to the plan reportedly began in late December, cautioning that President Bola Tinubu is unaware of the developments.
He also reiterated his earlier prophecy that the US would act as Tinubu’s “greatest opposition.” “Trump’s wish is to see Tinubu out of office, unless the president takes a very bold political step. The international community will be involved in our election, and we must be careful,” Ayodele warned.
