The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has met with the Rivers State chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chukwuemeka Aaron and Chief Tony Okocha, respectively.
According to The Media, the meeting took place on Monday morning.
The Media recalls that the Tanimu Turaki–led leadership of the PDP in Rivers State recently collapsed its structure into the Chukwuemeka Aaron–led faction, pledging allegiance to Wike.
The realignment was disclosed on Friday during Wike’s visit to Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area.
Wike has since been touring the state’s 23 local government areas as part of efforts to reclaim control of its political structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
