The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Anabraba communicated his decision in a letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 1 in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.

In the letter, he cited personal reasons for his resignation while expressing gratitude for the platform, support, and political opportunities the party provided during his tenure as a member.
He did not reveal his next political move in the resignation letter.
However, reliable sources indicate that the former PDP chieftain could soon join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
