Abdallah Wali, a former senator and diplomat, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending over 20 years of affiliation with the party.

In a resignation letter dated December 31, 2025, addressed to the PDP ward chairman of Sanyinna Ward in Tambuwal Local Government Area, Sokoto State, Wali stated that his decision takes immediate effect.

“I hereby resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, including all its organs to which I belong. This resignation is with immediate effect,” the letter read.

Wali expressed gratitude to the PDP for providing him with the platform to serve both the party and the nation in various capacities.

He also thanked his supporters for their steadfast loyalty and support over more than 25 years, describing it as invaluable.

Copies of his resignation letter were forwarded to the PDP chairman in Tambuwal LGA and the party’s Sokoto State chairman.

As of the time of reporting, Wali had not disclosed his next political move.
