IED ATTACK ON BORNO CONVOY CLAIMS SIX SOLDIERS’ LIVES

At least six Nigerian soldiers died and five others were injured when a military convoy was hit by an explosive device in Borno State on Sunday.
The attack took place on the Damasak–Kareto road when one of the convoy’s vehicles struck a buried explosive device.
Sources say the convoy was en route to Damasak for operational clearance when the explosion happened.
Residents reported that the explosive device was planted by Boko Haram militants active in the area.
According to reports, six soldiers were killed instantly, while five others were injured in the blast.
The injured soldiers were rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.
Videos circulated online later showed a heavily damaged military vehicle at the site of the blast.
At the time of reporting, the Nigerian military had yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
