The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has once again reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

The latest adjustment represents a ₦20 reduction per litre at NNPCL filling stations.

The new price regime has already taken effect at NNPCL filling stations located in Wuse Zones 6 and 4 in Abuja, as well as along the Keffi–Abuja Road and the Kubwa Expressway.

An attendant at one of the NNPCL outlets, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the revised price was implemented on Sunday evening.

Despite the reduction, the ₦815 per litre pump price remains ₦79 higher than the ₦739 per litre currently sold at MRS filling stations nationwide, which are supplied by the Dangote Refinery.

It will be recalled that on December 19, 2025, NNPCL reduced the price of petrol by ₦80 to ₦835 per litre, following intensified competition in the downstream sector triggered by Dangote Refinery’s reduction of its gantry price to ₦699 per litre.
