The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two teenage suspects for allegedly sexually assaulting minors in Tilden Fulani, Toro Local Government Area.
Police spokesman SP Nafiu Habib confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to the statement, the arrests followed a complaint lodged on January 8 by a parent, who alleged that his eight-year-old son had been lured and abused by a 16-year-old suspect.
“On January 8, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a concerned father reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Tilden Fulani that his eight-year-old son had been deceitfully lured with sweets and tiger nuts by Mohammed Saifullahi, aged 16, who allegedly engaged in sexual acts with the child on multiple occasions,” the statement read.
Following the report, detectives were promptly dispatched to the scene. The suspect was arrested, and the victim was taken to a hospital for medical examination.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Saifullahi was introduced to the act by 17-year-old Shuaibu Sulaiman, who was also arrested. Saifullahi reportedly admitted to the offense and identified Sulaiman as an accomplice.
Sulaiman reportedly said that his first involvement in such acts occurred after sharing a two-in-one bed with Saifullahi.
Further investigation indicated that Saifullahi had allegedly sexually abused four minors between the ages of seven and ten. The police stated that multiple children in this age range were reportedly victimized.
SP Habib confirmed that both suspects confessed during questioning and would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu condemned the incident, warning that anyone involved in such acts would face the full weight of the law. He also urged parents and guardians to closely monitor the activities of their children.
