Dangote Cement Plc has announced plans to expand its cement production capacity to 90 million tonnes as it rewarded its distributors and customers with N15 billion worth of incentives in appreciation of their loyalty and performance.
The company honoured its top-performing partners at the 2026 Distributors’ Awards Night held in Lagos, themed “Partner for Growth.” The event recognised outstanding distributors with prizes ranging from cash rewards and cement consignments to luxury SUVs and CNG-powered trucks, all valued at N15 billion.
Speaking at the ceremony, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, described distributors as the backbone of the business, commending their commitment to ensuring Dangote products reach communities across the country.
“Your tireless efforts in the field, unwavering commitment to our products, and direct engagement with customers are what translate our vision into real results. Today’s celebration under the theme ‘Partner for Growth’ shows that our growth journey for 2026 has already begun,” he said.
Dangote also reaffirmed the Group’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to transform Dangote Industries into a $100 billion enterprise by 2030. According to him, the strategy is anchored on industrial expansion, cross-border investments, and strengthening Africa’s self-sufficiency in critical sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
He disclosed that Dangote Cement Group is targeting an expansion of its cement production capacity to about 90 million tonnes by 2030, stressing that the company’s goals extend beyond factory construction to building Africa’s long-term economic capacity.
“Our focus is on enabling Africa to feed itself, power its economy, develop its people, and achieve sustainable industrialisation,” Dangote said.
Highlighting ongoing expansions across the Group, he noted that plans are underway to increase the petroleum refinery capacity from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million barrels per day, expand the fertiliser plant to 12 million metric tonnes annually, and boost output at the polypropylene plant. He added that achieving a 90-million-tonne cement capacity would place Dangote Cement at about 50 per cent higher than the total cement production of Saudi Arabia.
Dangote described Vision 2030 as a key component of the Group’s Africa First initiative, driven by a belief that the continent’s future lies in the hands of Africans willing to think boldly, work relentlessly, and push beyond perceived limits.
