Reality star Josephine Ijioma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has refuted claims that she has not received her N100 million grand prize for winning the 2022 Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show.
Recalls that in 2023, Phyna publicly addressed the organisers, stating she had yet to receive all the prizes she won on the show. After exchanges between her team and the BBNaija organisers, the matter appeared to have been resolved, leaving fans to believe it was settled.
However, a video recently began trending online, allegedly showing Phyna claiming she had not received her prize money.
During a recent livestream, Phyna addressed the video, saying it had been edited maliciously. She clarified that in the full footage, she was speaking about people who mocked her for becoming a streamer despite winning N100 million years ago, and that these individuals never supported her during her efforts to have the prize money released.
“They keep cutting my video. I never said I have not received my 100 million naira. I was only talking to people who asked me if the 100 million naira has finished,” she explained.

Phyna added that the misleading video nearly sparked a legal dispute with the reality show organisers, who were upset over the false impression. She said she had to clarify to them that the clip had been edited and urged everyone to watch the full Twitch livestream for context.
She also warned bloggers against manipulating her videos, stating that she would take legal action against anyone who edits her content in a way that could cause her legal issues.
