The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has suspended Kabiru Labbo Jega, a senior party member, over allegations of inciting violence and unrest in Jega town.

The suspension, outlined in a letter dated January 26 and signed by the party’s Zonal Vice Chairman for Kebbi Central, Abubakar Bello Matawalle Bunza, comes just a month after the party suspended Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa, Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government and ALGON chairman.

Jega, who also serves as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Community and Rural Development, was accused of actions that could disrupt peace and unity within the party in his constituency. The APC alleged that he instigated clashes among party members, creating tension and confusion in Jega.

After reviewing the allegations, the party’s executive committee concluded that Jega’s conduct posed a threat to internal cohesion and discipline. “As a result, you are hereby suspended from membership and all party activities with immediate effect,” the letter stated.

The APC further warned that Jega must refrain from participating in any party-related activities during the suspension period, noting that violations could lead to stricter disciplinary actions, including potential expulsion.
