APC ACCUSES ADC OF SPREADING FALSEHOOD OVER MEMBERSHIP E-REGISTRATION EXERCISE

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of spreading false and misleading claims over the ongoing electronic membership registration exercise, describing the allegations as baseless and driven by intimidation.
In a statement on Monday, the APC dismissed claims that civil servants were being coerced into participating in the party’s e-registration process, insisting that the exercise is voluntary and transparent.
The party said the allegation was part of what it described as a wider disinformation campaign by the ADC, which it claimed previously included the fabrication and circulation of a fake APC membership slip purporting to show a notorious terrorist as a registered member of the party.
According to the APC, the e-registration exercise has witnessed massive voluntary participation by Nigerians inspired by the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda, prompting the party leadership to extend the registration deadline from January 31 to February 8, 2026.
The APC argued that the scale of participation has unsettled opposition parties, particularly the ADC, which it said has resorted to “concocting lies” in an attempt to discredit the initiative.
The ruling party maintained that its electronic registration exercise represents a major step in digitising party administration and strengthening internal democracy, adding that it remains focused on what it described as its “onward march as Africa’s standard-bearer of digital and democratic innovation.”
